InstaFriday Time!

Here’s a fun way to share my quirky iphone pics, insta-Friday style.  Load up your pics and join the fun!  I’m linking up with Jeannett from Life Rearranged (awesome blog!), so don’t forget to check her out!

We had a wonderful family day on Monday since it was presidents day and Dan wasn’t working.  We took a nice little walk on the Big Creek Greenway near Fowler Park.  The weather was heavenly!

Holy Spring!  Is it just me, or do daffodils not usually bloom in February?  I’m loving this weather, and can’t believe I’m already seeing spring flowers! Not that I’m sad one teenie bit.

So, let me tell you about this tree here.  It has been a bit of a pain in my a$$ the past few weeks because Mason keeps heading over to our dog’s super comfy dog bed (pretending it’s Pillow Mountain) and then heads over to the tree in the corner and proceeds to dump all the spanish moss out of the base and eat it, shake it, toss it, scatter it… DRIVE MAMA INSANE WITH IT!  Me removing him wasn’t working too well, because just as fast as I would remove him and sit back on the sofa, he’d turn around and make a run for the tree again, giggling up a storm.  What. Am. I. To. Do?  Well, apparently the tree had enough of it too, and wanted payback because one morning while I was taking Parker to the potty, I came back to THIS^ Mason pulled the tree over onto himself (physically unscathed).  He was so pissed. Now, he doesn’t seem too interested in that tree.  NICE! Maybe I should’ve dumped the tree on him earlier.  KIDDING!

Don’t you just love it when you’re kids dump out legos all  over the hard wood floors, pretend to make snow angels in them, scattering them under every piece of furniture in your living room, then walks away and doesn’t even put two pieces together to make anything with it? Me too.

I went to a consignment sale on Wednesday night, and got a few things for the boys.  I didn’t expect to be able to put on the new spring outfit the very next day.  It was in the high o 70s and gorgeous on Thursday!  Here’s Mason rockin’ his new outfit… looking adorable per usual.

Just a sneak peak into Mason’s little Birthday hat that I’m making for his birthday.  I free handed the “1” on a cardstock that had a sticky back and cut it out and pressed (very easy).  Then I cut up his invitation (we had a few extra) and used foam double sided tape to add to the birthday hat.  It turned out great! There’s a cute little elephant on the left side.

Are these not the cutest little love birds you’ve ever seen?  Zoey stole Parker’s heart at the playground on Thursday by saying “Do you want to help me find acorns?”  She even gave him a little cup to put it in!  She is such a cutie, and they were adorable together.  I couldn’t resist snapping some photos of their joyous smiles.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted an Insta-Friday, but I’d like to link up with Jeanette at Life Rearranged and share the past few weeks with ya.  I decided to try the Instagram Plus app instead of my normal CameraBag app, so these pictures show a few edited from both.

Parker LOVES the black bean Couscous that Target sells in their deli section.  So, I thought we’d try to make our own instead.  It turned out great, and it was a nice simple vegetarian dinner.  Parker and Mason both devoured it!

I love messy baby faces.  And Mason has been giving me plenty of them lately, and making my camera phone, and anyone within view distance happy, too.  Here he is, devouring his beloved raspberries and avocado.

Aunt Jenna got Parker a jumbo Mr. Potato head for Christmas with lots of little potato heads inside.  Parker, Mason, and I love dumping the entire thing on the floor, and assembling our versions, and having lots of giggles along the way.

We enjoyed the fog and rainy overcast weather with a nice wagon ride around our two mile loop.  Parker put his new rain boots to good use, and enjoyed making splashes in rain puddles along the way.

Mason is really starting to love the play area at the mall now.  It’s so great to be able to bring both boys, and have them play now!  We just have to make sure to go on off peak times, so they’re not trampled by the kids that are way too big to be in there in the first place.

Seriously, is this not the cutest “I love my brother” photo, ever?  I just love those boys to death!

Mason and Harper were being such cutie patooties, at Monkey Joes.  While Jen and I were keeping an eye on the older kiddos, they were taking turns swapping a baby doll, and goobering on their toes.  How. Lovely.

We went a birthday party that our neighbors invited us to. They’re Indian and their daughter turned 1.  It was quite the shin-dig.  White linen table clothes, those fancy bows on the back of chairs, balloons galore.  Parker had a blast with getting his face painted, watching a magician, balloonist, and CAKE. Heaven forbid we forget the cake.  Something we learned about parties from people who come from this part of the world?  They like to party LATE.  Mason usually goes to bed at 7:30, and they didn’t even cut the “I must have a slice of cake or I’ll die” cake (as said by Parker) until 9pm! The party didn’t end until 11pm, poor kids!  We had a great time, but of course, we weren’t able to avert the crisis meltdown when we got home.  Lesson learned.

I’m reminiscing the beautiful weather we had last week, and this wonderful wagon ride we took.  Now it’s the normal chilly weather, and I’m not a fan one bit.  I’m a summer girl at heart, and I’m looking forward to when it’ll be warm again!

Looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend!

Here’s my dose of Insta-Therapy! I’m linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged and posting iphone pics from the week!

Lizzie was really in need of a good bath, and I didn’t want to go through the trouble of scheduling someone to do it for us, with all the trimmings.  So, I dusted off my dog shampoo that had been hidden behind the clutter under the bathroom sink, and gave her a good bath.  She was the happiest, and most frisky girl, I’d seen in a while.  The boys LOVED seeing her like this.

Mason isn’t quite pulling himself up completely to stand.  He usually just makes it to his knees.  However, he does enjoy being placed on his feet, to be able to look around like a “big boy”! I know it’s a bit of a blurry picture, but that’s because he likes to be a little wobbly.

This week was the last week before Christmas break at St. Aidan’s where Parker has his MMO class.  So, I made some little nifty Christmas presents for the teachers.  I got it from this idea  I saw on Pinterest.  I know, I know… I spelled  s’more wrong.  Lovely, right?

I met up with Sarah and some Mommy friends at Catch Air this week.  Parker and Mason both had a blast, per usual.  However, it was insanely busy!  I guess that’s to be expected with school out and it being a rainy day, but there were not only a lot of kids, but some big kids too.  Parker LOVES hanging out with big kids, but always ends up with some bumps and bruises.  This day was no exception, but they both still had lots of fun!

Parker had lots of fun with his buddy Logan, running through the monkey grass at the local park. It was so hard to catch a decent picture of them because they were really taking off!

Parker has so much fun just being my helper.  He LOVES when I let him help me with my chores and things around the house.  He feels like such a big boy, which is all the rage now.  Here is is, helping me mix the solution for the cloth wipes.

I met up with Ms. Danielle at Phipps Plaza on Wednesday, to have dinner at Twist, and do a little shopping.  Okay, well the shopping wasn’t exactly planned, but this Mama barely has time to shop and have fun, so I took advantage.  I bought way too much at Nordstrom, and Danielle and I had fun looking around Janie and Jack, and gawking at their cutesy girl clothes, and over priced outfits.  She found this cute little girl dress that totally would be a little mini Danielle outfit. SO cute!

Upon leaving Phipps on Wednesday, I was taken back for a second by this beautiful traditional church that stood lit up in the distance.  A sweet reminder for the reason for the season, amongst the hustle and bustle in December.

Parker wasn’t really feeling well last night, but he seems to be a little more cooperative when he’s under the weather.  So, I thought I’d try to cheer him up by having him help me make a batch of cookies.  We had a lot of fun doing little Christmas Tree, Gingerbread Man, and Candy Cane cut-outs, but his favorite was just making the round cookies and getting to sprinkle toppings on them. I got a few smiles out of him, which made it all worth the mess.

Looking forward to Christmas in a couple of days!  How was your week?

Per usual, I’m linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged and posting iphone pics from the week!
Dan picked these up last weekend, and it kind-of grossed me out when he pointed out what they were made of… 100% butter? Really? I think I could’ve gone without knowing that tid bit of mis-information, thank you.

We went to “All Fired Up” on Monday with our playgroup to paint pottery.  Parker had a lot of fun going to town with the red and green paint, making a bit of a mess, but loving every moment of it.  I’m curious to see what it will look at when we go pick it up.

We went to go see the lights at Lake Lanier (a more detailed post later), but the boys enjoyed it, and loved snuggling up in the back with blankets and watching Christmas movies!

I attended a cookie exchange on Wednesday night with some girlfriends.  I brought peanut butter cookies with Hershey kiss.  They were super yum!  It put me in quite the festive spirit, too.

Parker has really been enjoying telling me all of the letters and numbers he has learned.  One of his favorite things is to call out the letters when he sees words.  So, I thought it would be fun to buy more of the foam letters, so we could play with them outside the tub.  He had a great time, for a few minutes… and then Mason had a time, chewing and scattering all the letters.

The weather was beautiful this week, and unseasonably warm.  So, we enjoyed a nice time in the back yard and at the local park.  Daddy even joined us one time, and had fun helping Parker push Mason on the swing.  Good times.

This little booger is cutting his seventh tooth! I just found it yesterday.  So, this is his typical pose, with one finger in the mouth.

We had a great time playing with friends this week, as usual… with the Howells!  Our boys love each other!

It’s been a pretty eventful week.  Dan was gone to Vegas to attend a training certification seminar, so I was home with the boys for the weekend, and through the week.  I didn’t notice much that the time was going by so fast since we had such a busy week.  When I look through my iphone pics, it makes me realize how much I did with the boys, and how much fun the three of us had together.  It made me such a proud Mama.

Per usual, I’m linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged and posting iphone pics from the week.

Saturday it was a beautiful day, so we decided to head over to Fowler park, where there is lots of sunshine, slides, swings and things to climb on.  We packed a lunch and had a family picnic sans Dad…who we missed terribly.

I found this board on Pinterest and I thought I’d give it a try for myself.  It’s perfect for above Parker and Mason’s play table in our room and shows our plans this week.  On Monday, I go over our “week”, and I’m hoping that eventually he’ll understand and look forward to exciting events throughout the week!

I loved dressing the boys up for their visit with Santa.  Mason is wearing clothes that Parker wore this time last year (at 15 months) and he’s almost 9 months! Big guy!  Both outfits were consignment buys, since they will probably only wear a handful of times, and then go straight to the back of the closet.  Boy did they look handsome, though!

My boys were SO good for Santa! I’m so glad I “talked him up”.  Minus the hand in the mouth, it was a cute shot.

I took the cheesy (but cute) Santa photo and made an ornament with some holiday fabric.  Yes, it looks a bit ridiculous and completely home made, but that was kind of the point.  I also made another ornament that I was inspired by a pinterest pin here.  It doesn’t look exactly like it, but close enough!

We had “Cookies with Santa” on Wednesday and met Marcie and Sarah there with their kiddos.  It was not only decorating a cookie, it was a fun visit with the Clauses, a live DJ with Christmas music and hula hoops (that Parker was LOVING to dance to!), a balloonist making every balloon toy figure known to man and coloring.  Parker had a blast!  It’ll definitely become a tradition for us for years to come.

This cutie patootie here, is learning how to pull up!  This just started this week.  I feel like he’s growing up so fast!

This guy right here^^ with the sly grin behind his paci, thinks he’s cute waking up a mere two hours after I put him down for the night.  It’s not typical of this “good sleeper”, but my milk supply has dipped quite a bit since he hasn’t been wanting to nurse during the day, and I have refused to pump around the clock to keep up my supply.  So, I threw my hands up and decided that I would let my pride go by  the wayside and give him a bottle of formula.  I hope this isn’t the end of our nursing relationship, but I’m leaving it up to him.  If he keeps refusing the breast, then I will have to be OK with giving him formula!

I made lots of “simple” meals this week while Dan was out.  This is chicken teriyaki on the Cuisinart grill, green giant portioned peas and corn with sliced apple.  Parker loved it.  Easy Peasy.

Lots of bubbles and bathtime fun this week.  This is usually Dan’s responsibility when he’s home, but I had a lot of fun this week playing with the boys, being silly with bubbles, and snapping some cutesy photos of them.

Parker is going through a “Let me do everything by myself” phase.  Here he is trying to put on some pants, but not realizing that he has two legs in the same hole!  Poor kid.  He was trying SO hard!

We went to visit Gracile, Campen and Amelia for a playdate and Dinner on Wednesday.  I love that our kiddos are so close in age.  Campen and Parker are three weeks apart, and Mason and Amelia are seven weeks apart.  Don’t they look SO cute together?  I think maybe some match making will be cookin’ up in the future!

We met up with Gracile, and Campen again today for our typical Friday Kangazoom time.  The boys had a great time, jumping, playing, and the general goofing-off shenanigans that they love to do.  It was a nice end to the week.  I ended up having to strip Parker’s shirt off though, because he got a little out of hand at the water fountain.  Boys.  Gotta love ’em!

That’s it for my week.  Looking forward to what the weekend holds!

I know, it’s been like a bazillion years since I’ve posted an Insta-Friday.  I’ve been a bit tied up with Thanksgiving and… well… kids.  When all else fails, blame your lack of “having it all together” on the kids.  Sounds good to me!
So, without further delay… I’m linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged and post iphone pics to give a little glimpse into the past few weeks.

My little sister Amanda turned 14 last weekend!  I can’t believe how much she’s grown!  What a beautiful young lady she’s becoming.  I thought I’d treat her to some highlights for the first time and a stylish cut.  Not that she needs them, but it was a nice day of pampering at Toni and Guy for her.  She loved it!

Since Mason is now mobile, and we have the Christmas tree up, I put out the pack n play for Mason to play in.  I’m so thankful that he’s taken to it much better than Parker did at his age.  Parker HATED being in there and cried the instant I sat him in there.  Mason is pretty content, as long as it isn’t for too long.  Parker LOVES to join him in there.  He begs me to put him in there with him. It is so cute how they play together in there.  It gives me some much needed peace after mealtime.

I put my baking skills to work to make some mini pumpkin pies for Parker’s Thanksgiving Potluck at school.  They also turned out super yummy!

I also made these pumpkin muffins for the class from this quick and easy recipe I found on pinterest.  They turned out super yummy!

Who knew an indoor playground showroom could be so much fun!?  Parker and Mason had a great time with the playgroup there a few weeks back.

Every Sunday night, we have our “Family Storytime”.  We read to Parker every night before bed, but since Mason goes down so early, he usually doesn’t get to hear a story unless it’s Sunday.  So this is the time where we all pile onto Mama and Daddy’s bed and snuggle up and grab five or six books to read aloud with the four of us. Mason, above is clearly looks right at home here, waiting for the rest of us to join him.

A great gal-pal of mine, Sarah,  turned 21 a few weeks back.  We had so much fun celebrating her. She is the most mature, responsible, and down-to-earth 21 year old I know.  I’m so glad we met! I finally got to cut loose and have a nice girls night! Her brother was able to drive me home, which was nice since I was past my limit.  It’s been way too long!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Von Mar, then you should. That place is AWESOME! And you don’t even have to buy anything for it to be a downright enjoyable experience.  We love to go there with their big shiny Christmas trees, and pianist playing the beautiful Christmas melodies, and the kids section has a wonderful train table!  Parker is in heaven.  They also have this really cool peach drop (that works about 50% of the time), where a peach rides a series of tracks down from a tree into a wash station, and through other fun stations in preparation for a peach pie or jam.  So cute!

We had a great time at Marcie’s house eating traditional “campfire” foods for the night.  Parker loved roasting a marshmallow, and was mesmerized by the fire.  It was so perfect for a cool November evening.

Mason loves his “little people” animals!

Parker having lunch with his buddy Pace and other friends at Monkey Joes… His new most favorite place!  I’m pretty sure Parker is saying “MORE” as well as gesturing the sign since his milk is low.  He has become SO obsessed with milk lately.  When he runs out, he always asks for more, and when meal time is near, he runs over to his chair and immediately yells “MICK, MICK!”.  That kid is determined to get his calcium for healthy bones!

A rare moment where Parker is actually being still on the ottoman for a picture.  When I’m nursing Mason, he’s typically digging through the toy box, or climbing on my legs.  Boys…

Mason was cracking up at me at Chick-fil-A this day.  I love my little bald headed chubba wabba

Mason is SO into unloading the toy baskets and surrounding himself.  Here he is, all barricaded in, and completely content.

Well, even though Jeannett over at Life Rearranged isn’t posting this week, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted an Insta-Friday, and my iphone pics are dying to be seen, right? RIGHT.

So, here goes nothing.

Something that I failed to mention during my Chattanooga post, is that we got to have a wonderful date night during out trip.  We shared a bottle of Pinot Nior and had a yummy dinner on the Delta Queen overlooking the Tennessee river.  There wasn’t as much pizazz there and we had we thought there’d be (okay, it was just old people there), but it was still nice to catch up without the kiddos and get a little bitsy tipsy.

THE CUTEST little peek-a-boo in the world!

We ran into some neighbors at the mailboxes a week or so ago.  How happy would someone be to get cute little Henry as their package?

This is my husband’s fav gas station drink.  He claims he’s a republican, but from the likes of this drink, it seems that he’s got a little bit of a liberal/granola/peace-loving/boardline-OWS side to him. KIDDING. But perhaps I’ve rubbed off on him a teeny smidgen of a bit.

Parker got his silly side out while playing with his friends at the park on Monday.  Here he is being goofy with Logan, Cole, and Sunny.

Per usual, I made some baby food this week while Parker was in school and Mason was napping.  My sis-in-law Jenna gave us this Tupperware salsa maker a few years back, and although we loved it then, we use it even more now.  Now that Mason is chewing his food more ( guess that would be considered stage 3 or 4), we like to use this to make his food a bit more “chunky”.  I left the skins on the pears, cut them up, and brought to a boil.  Let boil for about 5 mins, and then threw into the salsa maker.  Result: nice chunky pears!

Logan and Parker… being the little goobers that they are… goofin’ around at the playground

My dinner last night… Salmon, brown rice with veggies, and steamed green beans.  Jealous?  Probably not, since it looks like something out of a health magazine.  It was really good though.  Too bad I messed up the “super healthy” part by devouring spoonfuls of dark chocolate almond spread later in the evening.  That stuff should be outlawed!

During Mason’s morning nap, Parker and I hung out back… and we were freeegin COLD.  Yuck!  I hate cold weather!  We’ll make the best of it though.  At least I get to wear boots and scarves.  Alas, I survive in the name of fashion.

Happy Friday! I’m linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged and post iphone pics to give a little glimpse into my week.

On Saturday mornings we frequently head over to Original Pancake house (Half off Depot has a great deal!). Parker LOVES pancakes (we do syrup free. This kid DOES NOT need any added sugar.  He’s hyper enough!).  This particular morning, he decided to give me some love after a yummy breakfast to to thank me. I love that kid!

We went to the Cumming Fair on Sunday.  We saw a few some interesting things (pictured below) that include a Rastafarian Banana and Winne the Pooh… one of those people that pretend to be a statue and look like they dipped themselves in white paint (I don’t really get the appeal, but whatever) and a sign on one of the tables in a passing booth.

It was a rainy day on Monday, and the pumpkin patch was a bit of a bust, so after naps, we headed to the mall, and Parker got to play in his favorite free indoor play area.  Happy as a clam!

I grabbed sushi with my former bestie co-worker Danielle this week (The sushi chef will clearly not win “picture taker of the year” award).  She’s starting a new adventure at a new company and won’t be within hopping distance from my house anymore.  So sad!  Here we are celebrating her new opportunity.

I step away for one moment to get dinner ready, and come back to this.  Look at that grin under his paci!

Cute picture, right?  It better be after all the work that went into it.  This week has been a bit of a pain in my ass to be honest.  Mason has decided to exert his “free will” when it comes to nursing lately.  He decided that he was too impatient to wait for the let-down for two of his nursing sessions (the 4pm and 7:30pm feeding).  I really really tried, but after lots of crying and tears, I gave up. So, thankfully that freezer full of milk came in handy this week, but unfortunately not quickly enough for a sad baby, which brought my stress level to a whole ‘nother level.  Add that, plus having to pump afterwards, and wash all the bottles and pump pieces makes me want to drink wine straight from the bottle.  So please tell me this picture is cute.  This picture is FREAKIN CUTE!

My baby boy turned seven months this week! Look at him standing in his cute babylegs!

Going for a jog with my boys during a break in the weather

Yom Yom Yom, Yummy toes!

Rub a dub dub…two cutie patooties in a tub.

We had a great time at the park today.  It was so nice to finally get out after being trapped indoors with all the rain all week.  Mason and I hung out and watched Parker slide and play.  It made for a perfect late afternoon outing.

After the park, Parker, Mason and I grabbed some pizza at our favorite place nearby.  We like to go next door afterwards and get a little owl cookie.  We missed Daddy a lot, but will enjoy a nice beautiful weekend with him, and we’re all looking forward to that!

Linking up with Life Rearranged and posting another Insta Friday!  Doesn’t that just make you InstaHappy?  Okay, I’ll stop and get on with it!

So, last weekend was nice. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, went to a festival, went to a surprise birthday party with some friends.  It was at a bbq place, and my wonderful husband with the slender figure ordered this…

Dan and Parker enjoyed goofing off in the yard.  Kicking around the ball and chasing after one another.

Parker giving Mason a hug in their “Sunday’s Best” attire.  So what if I had to ask Parker to give him a hug.  Still cute nonetheless!

So, does anyone want to take a shot at what this picture above is?  Yep, you probably guessed that is my “Mama’s Milk” storage.  I got to sorting it the other day to get the dates in order to use, and I started to feel proud of my little stash.  I had a mere one or two bottles stored when I was nursing Parker.  But I’ve been diligent at pumping once a day (for the most part) to keep up my supply for a few months now.  I use about a bottle a day to mix with baby food that I’ve been making, so it works out nicely.

I love this little booger.  It was a little chilly on Sunday, so I found this cute little hammi-down jacket from Parker.  I love his little ears and adorable little smile.

Nannie came over and had lots of fun with Parker.  They enjoyed playing with chalk on the patio among other things.

Nannie was sweet enough to treat us to lunch too.  So, we headed to Sweet Tomatoes and Parker had a great time digging into the veggies, and of course eating some frozen yogurt with sprinkles.  I think he really enjoyed it… what do you think?

We went to Catch Air this week with our playgroup. Parker had a blast sliding, jumping, riding the exercise equipment (above), listening to a mere 3 minutes of story time, climbing up through the maze of tunnels and obstacles.  My little explorer enjoyed every minute of it.

When Parker has MMO on Tuesday and Thursdays, Mason and I really enjoy hanging out and spending some special Mommy-baby bonding time together.  Here we are, being goofy together.

Parker enjoyed “Donuts with Dad” today at St. Aidan’s.  Dan said that Parker had lots of fun and that afterwards, he led a pack of kids on a sugar high up and down a stage, running around like crazy kids.  That’s my boy!

Tell me how your week was!

Happy Friday! I’m linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged and post iphone pics to give a little glimpse into my week.

Mason loves his new Tigger that Dad and Rennie got him during their visit on Saturday!

I met up with the Mom’s group at Webb Bridge Park on Monday, and Parker had lots of fun, per usual, with all his little friends.

It was such a beautiful day today, and we enjoyed soaking in some sun and letting Parker play with his friends, and letting Mason enjoy some little friends too.

I got a lot of laundry done this week while Parker was in MMO.  I love that on Thursdays I can extend the day to 1pm, so I don’t have to rush as much. I don’t love doing laundry, but I love folding cloth diapers.  Is that weird?

Tonight we decided to throw the boys in the jogging stroller and head up to the local chinese restaurant for dinner.  Afterwards, we picked up some yummy brownie mix and my wonderful husband baked some brownies for us. It was a best-way-to end-a-week kind of brownie!

How was yours?
