InstaFriday Time!

Here’s a fun way to share my quirky iphone pics, insta-Friday style.  Load up your pics and join the fun!  I’m linking up with Jeannett from Life Rearranged (awesome blog!), so don’t forget to check her out!

We had a wonderful family day on Monday since it was presidents day and Dan wasn’t working.  We took a nice little walk on the Big Creek Greenway near Fowler Park.  The weather was heavenly!

Holy Spring!  Is it just me, or do daffodils not usually bloom in February?  I’m loving this weather, and can’t believe I’m already seeing spring flowers! Not that I’m sad one teenie bit.

So, let me tell you about this tree here.  It has been a bit of a pain in my a$$ the past few weeks because Mason keeps heading over to our dog’s super comfy dog bed (pretending it’s Pillow Mountain) and then heads over to the tree in the corner and proceeds to dump all the spanish moss out of the base and eat it, shake it, toss it, scatter it… DRIVE MAMA INSANE WITH IT!  Me removing him wasn’t working too well, because just as fast as I would remove him and sit back on the sofa, he’d turn around and make a run for the tree again, giggling up a storm.  What. Am. I. To. Do?  Well, apparently the tree had enough of it too, and wanted payback because one morning while I was taking Parker to the potty, I came back to THIS^ Mason pulled the tree over onto himself (physically unscathed).  He was so pissed. Now, he doesn’t seem too interested in that tree.  NICE! Maybe I should’ve dumped the tree on him earlier.  KIDDING!

Don’t you just love it when you’re kids dump out legos all  over the hard wood floors, pretend to make snow angels in them, scattering them under every piece of furniture in your living room, then walks away and doesn’t even put two pieces together to make anything with it? Me too.

I went to a consignment sale on Wednesday night, and got a few things for the boys.  I didn’t expect to be able to put on the new spring outfit the very next day.  It was in the high o 70s and gorgeous on Thursday!  Here’s Mason rockin’ his new outfit… looking adorable per usual.

Just a sneak peak into Mason’s little Birthday hat that I’m making for his birthday.  I free handed the “1” on a cardstock that had a sticky back and cut it out and pressed (very easy).  Then I cut up his invitation (we had a few extra) and used foam double sided tape to add to the birthday hat.  It turned out great! There’s a cute little elephant on the left side.

Are these not the cutest little love birds you’ve ever seen?  Zoey stole Parker’s heart at the playground on Thursday by saying “Do you want to help me find acorns?”  She even gave him a little cup to put it in!  She is such a cutie, and they were adorable together.  I couldn’t resist snapping some photos of their joyous smiles.

The Park, Cranky Pants & Hip Mamas

This past weekend since the weather had eased up a bit from it’s hell like temps, we decided to go to the park with none other than or little pip squeak Parker and our little boo hound Lizzie.  Parker has been a late teeth bloomer (which I never complained about since teething is breastfeeding’s worst nightmare).  He recently pushed through his top tooth, and is working on his second.  The following pics captures his mood at the park quite clearly.

…in a dignified Russian accent he says…

"Do you want to mess with ME?"

"I will CRUSH you"

"...and then I will EAT you"

"Mwahahahaha...just kidding"

We had a nice time, but he definitely had his “get me out of here and give me something to chew on” attitude at certain points of the day. Poor kid. I’m sure it really hurts.
A few weeks ago I was introduced to a playgroup called “Hip Mamas, Happy Babies” by a Mom I met on the March ’11 Babycenter.com board (I know, I’m an internet junkie, don’t remind me…). Anywho, she has relocated here from FL and joined this group and told me about it. I’m going to my first meetup tomorrow, but I’m already impressed at how many awesome events  fill up the calendar each week. The group is for Mom’s who have babies that were born between July of ’09 and July of ’10. I think this is a great idea because once all the babies get past one, most kids will be on similar nap schedules and be similar ages. There are also a handful of Moms that are expecting number 2 that is in the group, so it’ll be nice to meet them as well. In a few weeks there will be a cloth diapering meetup/playdate where I will meet other Moms in the area that cloth diaper (or at least would like to know more about it). I’m excited about that because I don’t know anyone who cloth diapers. Yay!
