It doesn’t seem that long ago when I was writing a blog post about Parker’s nursery here and here anticipating his arrival, then before potty training, writing about his big boy bed transformation to a new toddler bed. Now… an adult bed! We told him he’d get a new big boy bed when he turned four. He has been asking for one since we moved, and we told him that he needed to wait until he was four. Granted, he’s not officially four until next month, but due to Dan’s new job and signing bonus, we were able to afford a new dining room set, and decided to bundle it with getting Parker’s new bed as well. We bought the crib with the thought of future growth. It was a pretty expensive crib, but it was appealing that we didn’t have to get rid of it once he was done with it. The cost of the crib covered all the crib, toddler, and adult rails and pieces needed so we had everything to put it together. We loved that it could be converted to a full sized bed that would provide longevity. I definitely recommend this for new parents!
Since Parker is obsessed with dressing up to be a super hero right now, we continued the theme in the room and got Avenger sheets and spiderman sheets to rotate out. We opted to do a navy duvet cover that matched is already hung navy curtains. I think it turned out quite nice. Parker just loves it. He can’t stop talking about how he’s a big kid now and has a big bed like ours. He says there’s plenty of room for Mason or me to come sleep with him anytime. We had a nice time all snuggled up reading books together tonight in the new bed!
