We had a lazy day on Christmas Eve. We allowed the kiddos to open one present, and of course Parker picked the biggest one under the tree (compliments of Aunt Jenna), and Mason opened a small gift and they were both happy as can be. We tried to get some pictures of all three of the kiddos together, but they weren’t too compliant all together. We still managed to get some cute shots of them and they enjoyed playing with their new toys.
After afternoon naps, we went to church for a Christmas Eve Service. It was sweet and simple. We were joined by my Mom and sister Amanda, and sat by our friends the Dawes’. They had a beautiful candlight service like they do every year, but this year we had our sweet baby girl joining us. What a perfect way to remind ourselves of the perfect gift that God gave us with his son Jesus.
We had a great time and enjoyed a nice home made crock pot turkey dinner afterward. After dinner we exchanged presents and enjoyed some nice family time with my Mom and sister before we headed to my Aunt Angie’s house for the evening.
Every year we go to the Ashby’s house for Christmas Eve, and for the past few years it’s been at my Aunt Angie’s house. Quite a few of our cousins and Aunts/Uncles are there and its always great to see them and their growing babies and kids. This year with it being Sienna’s first, she got lots of love and was passed around by everyone. Everyone loved her pretty Christmas outfit and commented on how she looked like Mason and her Mama. We all bring gifts for the little kiddos and after visiting with the family and eating some yummy treats, they all get to dive into their gifts. They have so much fun seeing what new toys they got, and we enjoyed seeing the smiles on their faces. By the end of the night we felt exhausted, but incredibly blessed. We have some precious kids and an amazing extended family that we got to share sweet holiday memories with!
